Matt Davis is from Wilmington, NC. Matt has lived in Wilmington most of his life and is an avid fisherman. Matt has made it a point to raise his son, Chase, in and on the water.
Matt began making Copper Fish in 2005...
Chase's godfather, Steve made him a "homemade" rocking horse for his first birthday. In an attempt to out-do the "homemade" rocking horse, Matt set his mind to making a copper flounder for Steve's son, Garrett. As Matt continued to perfect the copper flounder, he began giving them to all our friends' children. It wasn't long after that he began getting requests for other fish.
Matt has donated several fish for chairity fund raisers and most recently donated the trophy to the Fisherman's Post NC Flatfish Championship.
